Two days dedicated to discovering the High Atlas mountains and one of the most beautiful oases in southern Morocco which is home to incredible kasbahs.
After breakfast, departure by car or minibus (depending on the number of people) via the Tizi n'Tichka pass, the highest pass in Morocco and North Africa. You leave the main road shortly after the pass to reach the village of Telouet. Visit the ancient Kasbah du Glaoui, which controlled the caravan routes bringing products from sub-Saharan Africa to Marrakech for five centuries. You will then follow the old caravan route to Ait Benhaddou, a magnificent UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Explore the Skoura Oasis after breakfast.
The palm grove extends over more than 50 square kilometers, with a surprising network of paths and tracks shaded by palm trees, winding through the fields and connecting the villages.
All kinds of vegetables, fruits and fodder grow in the fields. Examples of livestock are sheep, goats, cows, and poultry.
A network of canals irrigates the entire area and the water is shared between the inhabitants according to ancient rules.
The landscape is dotted with magnificent Kasbahs. Some are in ruins, while others are still inhabited. Kasbah Amerhidil (17th century) is represented on a 50 dirham note.
Return to Marrakech via the Tichka pass road after lunch.
