Depart in a Land Rover via the Tizi n'Test route, via Asni and Ouirgane. This path passes via the Moulay Brahim Gorges before arriving at the summit of Mount Toubkal, Africa's highest peak. You may go a little further to see the Tin Mel Mosque. Currently undergoing restoration, but the work completed to far puts its remarkable architecture, of unique elegance, firmly in the hands of one of Almohade's masterminds. Accommodation at Ouled Berhil is in an old Sultan's palace, which has been converted into a few guest rooms.
Departure to Taroudant, often known as "Little Marrakech." Continue towards Igherm after a quick visit with a wander through the souks. The route travels through an argan tree forest at first, and you may observe goats grazing on the leaves. The environment changes radically after the route leaves the Anti-Atlas, presenting lovely, characteristic Saharan vistas. These sections are incredibly real because the road is very new and these areas have just recently been accessible. at Tata, you may stay at a hotel.
Drive to Zagora and then take the trail to the south of Djebel Bani, which allows you to go beside the massive Chigaga dunes and the Iriki depression. Your path will eventually reach the Draa River valley at M'Hamid. You'll then travel up this valley, which is actually a lengthy oasis. The Quranic library, the zaoua, the subterranean kasbah, and the pottery studios, noted for their peculiar manufacture, can all be found in Tamgroute. Zagora is where you'll spend the night.
In the morning, you will follow the Draa River, crossing past fields and communities on the way. At Tansikht, take the new Southern route east, going through Alnif, an area noted for extraordinary fossils recognized to specialists all over the globe. Then you'll travel to Merzouga to meet your camel guide and animals for a desert bivouac.
Breakfast will be provided at the camp following the spectacular dawn in the desert. Then, return to the vehicle by camel caravan for a short drive to Erfoud and the Tineghir oasis, one of the most picturesque in Southern Morocco due to its year-round water supply. Walk through the oasis gardens and up to the Todra Gorge. Accommodation in an ancient kasbah that has been lovingly repaired and made into a delightful little hotel by its owner.
Depart toward Ouarzazate, passing through the High Atlas and the Saghro Mountains. At Benhaddou, stop for lunch. We propose crossing the river and wandering through the historic village streets. Some residents allow visitors to their historic homes.
Continue on to the Tichka Pass and back to Marrakech in the afternoon.
